Judy Crowell was born on April Fool’s Day in Tokyo, Japan. But, if you ask her where she’s from, she’ll say “wherever I’m living at the moment.” That’s because as the child of an army father, Judy grew up in 4 different countries and 12 different states. In fact, as a high school student, she attended schools in Virginia and Germany before graduating from an international high school in Belgium.
Before joining the televised shopping industry, Judy worked in electronic journalism. Her first job upon graduating cum laude from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications was Co-Host for the nationally syndicated TV program P.M. Magazine in Madison, Wisconsin. She later worked for a time as Host for Cable Value Network (CVN) in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and as News Director for WLAV-radio in Grand Rapids, Michigan where she received an Associated Press Honor in Investigative Reporting.
In the late 80’s, Judy entered into the world of televised shopping. She worked for 15 years as Host on QVC in West Chester, Pennsylvania specializing in jewelry, fashion and fitness products. After becoming certified as a Personal Fitness Trainer, she developed her own show on the network called “Get Fit With Judy” which taught viewers easy and effective workout routines they could practice in their own homes.
