“Ehhh…verything’s coh…ming up roses…” It may have been back in ‘59 when Gypsy Rose Lee hummed that tune, but 53 years later we’re having another affair with florals.

Have you been shopping lately? Spring 2012 Fashion designers are having a field day! Fitted or flowing matters not as long as we’re talking flowers.
And, while we’re on the subject, you’ll notice that it’s tough to wear flowers without wearing color. Harper’s Bazaar highlighted the blues in their recent expose of Spring 2012 runway style.

Think of your average garden, though, and you realize that all color combos are acceptable.
Accessorizing this trend is simple.. especially with my Stratify Collection! While the clothing may be expensive (it’s really painful to look at the price tags), the jewelry I’ll show you is not.

Every single one of these rings featuring genuine Tanzanite, Amethyst, Blue Topaz and Garnet is priced at under $100, and many are closer to $79. (You can click on the image to read more about it) Become your own designer! Jump on these styles while the trend is hot, but own looks that will long outlast today’s garden variety splurge.

This beautiful camel coat cries out for something with smoky quartz like this ring from my Collection at JTV. Fashion week in New York is inspiring, but my excitement comes from interpreting the runway-extremes, fitting them into our non-runway lifestyles and then accessorizing them with the perfect jewelry.
This trendy, oversized sweater needs a necklace with color! See the way my tumbled red coral and citrine double-strand style has the chunkiness to compliment it?
Delicate lace dresses need nothing but great earrings. Let the lace take center stage.
But, add drops to the ears to frame the neck and face. I love these Orchid earrings from my new Blooming Jewels Collection. They’re feminine, but not frilly.
You’ll notice that bold is everywhere this fall in color and in print. Royal Blue, Sunflower and Crimson are HOT! Or, take a walk on the wild side with leopard, python and zebra.

BUT, don’t be shy with your jewelry selections. Choose ‘neutral’ does not mean choose ‘dull.’ Try my Lilly of the Valley ring where the focus is on silver, gold and white topaz. Neutral but nice.
While you’re at it, click on any of these images to see them in greater detail or to shop and buy!! After all, isn’t that the whole point?!

Spring 2010 promises to be a breath of fresh air as designers, following a year of somber uncertainty, once again embrace color, femininity, chic denim and smart accessories. The exciting news is that it’s wearable OFF the runway as well as on. Accessories are all shapes and sizes. Witness how the handbags pop against white. You tell me where the real focus is here.

And scarves? Don’t let anyone lead you to believe they’re put away for the winter. A newsboy cap, a not-so-neatly wrapped scarf, a strut in your stuff and you’re turning heads.
Colors for Spring 2010? Get ready for orange, cornflower blue, lots of white, loden green, pops of sunflower, khaki (of course), black (of course) and refreshing tones of teal.

Putting your finger on the pulse of fashion is easy when you have good sources. How do you gauge the mood of fashion today? Check out on-line magazines, newswire reports; celebrity blogs. Here, from the Associated Press – “Judging from the runway, tough times have energized the designers (on the Milan runways). The current preview showings for next winter, now at the midway point, are about real clothes for real women.” Although Prada had some strictly runway-fun with tall waders on the feet and gloves for hats during her most recent runway strut.
“After many seasons, where women seemed to be on a never ending vacation or out dancing every night, city clothes are back, epitomized by the pant suit. Very 1980’s, as when it made its debut on the Milan runway, but less androgynous……”

Haute Couture, Its Meaning and Role in Fashion Today – Fashion History: “Haute Couture is a French phrase for high fashion. Couture means dressmaking, sewing, or needlework and haute means elegant or high, so the two combined imply excellent artistry with the fashioning of garments. The purchase of a haute couture model garment is at the top level of hand customised fashion design and clothing construction made by a couture design house.”

Spring 2009 ~ Alberta Ferreti
What a time to be a woman! The clothes for Spring are feminine, soft, and sexy. If gazing at these styles doesn’t make you want to put down that donut, I don’t know what will. The body is in beautiful form in these drapey satins, flapper-like fringe and sleeveless torsos.
The colors are romantic and delicate in hues of champagne, soft plum and mint julep green. Drapey sweaters were over cigarette legged pants. Layered dresses had movement and fringe.
And, when it comes to accessories, it’s once again that statement piece (or in the case of bangles… as many as you can wear but just on one arm)that completes the look. Handbags are smaller with the omnipresent Chanel-inspired chain or worn cross-body with just enough room for a wallet and cell phone. Shoes are open-toed with high, chunky-heels. Sunglasses are big… still. Fashion Show
