My Girl, Brie, Sporting A New Haircut

Tuesday, May 19th, 2009

In my eyes, just too cute for words. (Although, in this photo “she” sort of looks like a “he.” She went through this phase at the age of 6 months, too. Now she’s going through it again at the age of 11 years! hahaha It sucks to get old.) But, she’s still the cutest, sweetest little girl in the whole wide world! Just look at that face.

Look closely at a light blue scarf paired with a mint green jacket. It’s called being different and doing the unexpected. Add to that an orange-cased cell phone and orange crocs? and you’re in living color!

Animal Magnetism

Cool bag! Notice the animal print theme with the hip, ethnic inspired handpainted craftsmanship. Right on trend.

Going Green

Monday, February 9th, 2009

Quite a number of trend elements are captured in this “look.” The bohemian influence is strong with the fringed neckline and tattered, leaf-edged hem. The textured, crinkled fabric and the combination of greens seem inspired by nature and the increased conversation of the greening of America.

Spring Awareness

Monday, February 9th, 2009

They’re showing that short jackets over long tee’s and tank tops are back for Spring 2009. But, my favorite addition to this look is the extra long striped scarf sometimes wrapped tight around the neck and draping to the mid-thigh; sometimes just draped casually for affect. (Notice the zipper treatment on both the sleeves and body of the jacket)

Youth Is Wasted On The Young

Saturday, January 17th, 2009

Will they look back some day and say “what was I thinking?” Probably not. It’s the confidence of youth that makes everything about them curious. That confidence, combined with arrogance and creativity in their style, is what designers try to capture when going after the next big trend.

Talk About Bright

Saturday, January 17th, 2009

With the “ladies who lunch” crowd in mind, here’s the preppy-adult look for Spring. Colors include lime green, bright turquoise, and hints of cherry pink. Does Pappagallo still sell espradilles? Are we back in the 80’s? Although we’ve been guided away from suits this past year, they are once again back on the scene. This time, though, the jackets are more feminine with tailored peplums, 3/4 sleeves, and creative collar treatments.
