Afraid of Fitness

A friend of mine admitted that she's never stepped foot in a gym. She's intimidated. She wouldn't know what to do. She said in the summer she walks in the park, but in the winter all the good she's done goes right out the window. She holes up in the house and doesn't exercise. It's too cold.
She's gotten to the point where she knows she needs to do something. She's tired of being flabby. If you're in that state of mind, too, one thing you can do is buy a workout video. That way, in the comfort of your own home, you can put on your spandex; pop in the video; and let the experts guide you through the routine. You're also not working out alone. There's someone, even just on the TV, in the room with you.
If you have the room, a treadmill is always a good purchase. There's no real training necessary, it's pretty self-explanatory. I like it because I can see how many calories I've burned, and I'm motivated by how many laps I get around. Each day, I push myself a little bit more.... or not. :D Sometimes, it's just all I can do to get on it! And, even then, I'm proud of myself.
